Diagnostics

PANACEUM possesses dental equipment and diagnostic devices which are still unique in Poland. At present, only in a few centres in Europe and across the world, dental diagnostics is based on three-dimensional visualization. Although computer tomography has been known in medicine for many years, it has not yet been used in dentistry. With the invention of implants used as teeth substitutes and their growing popularity, there appeared a need for diagnostics improving the safety and intra-operative precision, including the imaging of soft tissues, blood vessels or even nerves of the facial skeleton.

In the jaw and mandible implants, we use quantities expressed to an accuracy of one tenth of a millimetre, therefore, any mistake may lead to serious complications. According to the fundamental principle in medicine, Primum non nocere, implantologists in PANACEUM use a wide range of activities aiming at the avoidance of complications. The basic advantage of the device used in dental computer tomography, the Cone Beam Volumetric Tomography (CBVT), is that it reduces the effective patient radiation dose two hundredfold in comparison with classical tomography. Such dose minimization is of great importance as this type of examination should be carried out even in case of individual implantations. An additional asset of this type of imaging is its cooperation with computer software due to which, in a digital simulation, the dentist may measure, turn around, enlarge, cut or test the bone density and structure, introduce cylindrical forms of implants observing their behaviour in relation to the anatomical structures and occlusion, as well as visualize the aesthetic qualities of future prosthetic restorations.

The possibility of testing the bone parameters determines an appropriate treatment plan and such important aspects as the number, size and location of implants. The use of an individual impression tray with a contrast medium is also of great importance as it allows the display of an ideal arrangement of the future prosthetic restoration in the scan. Only the use of CBVT offers such possibilities. It is also the best device for maxillary sinuses diagnosis; their lifting has become a standard procedure in the restoration of lateral teeth in the jaw.

Thanks to this state-of-the-art equipment, PANACEUM's patients may feel safe while real-time visualization helps them to understand the treatment plan and see the expected final effect.
